Description
The legendary patter song from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance is reimagined here as a comedic tour de force by Craig Mason. This arrangement is set for “total comedy”: the trombonists attempt to remain dignified and serious while the Eb cornetist, seemingly bored with the “proper” tempo, constantly pushes the band to go faster and faster. It is a hilarious and technically challenging piece of musical theater that is guaranteed to be a highlight of any light-music or family-themed concert.
Difficulty 4
(Medium) A level 4 difficulty rating brings very challenging rhythms to the piece. Syncopation will be freely used, as will the more extreme ranges for all instruments.
