Description
This evocative original work by David Marlatt is a three-movement ode to the season of rebirth. The movements (The Call to Spring, A Spring Rain, The Celebration of Spring) take the listener on a programmatic journey. Notably, the second movement (A Spring Rain) utilizes a unique “rain effect” that involves audience participation (finger snapping and hand rubbing), making it a highly engaging and memorable experience for all. It is a beautiful and creative addition to a spring or symphonic concert.
Difficulty 4
(Medium) A level 4 difficulty rating brings very challenging rhythms to the piece. Syncopation will be freely used, as will the more extreme ranges for all instruments.
