Brian Crookes takes Chopin’s expressive and deeply romantic piano melody and transforms it into a showcase for the Solo Cornet section. The arrangement requires the cornets to play with great sensitivity and a collective “singing” tone. It is a stunning example of how piano masterworks can be translated into the rich, expressive language of the brass band.
