Description
This book contains 4-part arrangements by Sean Brown of Christmas music that can be played with many different combinations of brass instruments. Originally for 2 trumpets (Parts 1 & 2) and 2 trombones (Parts 3 & 4) in reasonably friendly keys and ranges, there are also alternate Horn in F options for each of the 4 original parts, all in the exact same ranges and keys as the original version. Thus, horn players can substitute or double any part, and, of course, horn ensembles can play these. In addition, there are optional parts, which stick to the original 4 part arrangement, including 2 extra trombone options, a trumpet option, and a tuba option. The arrangements are written in 3 separate 4-part scores to allow for easy flexibility between pieces.
Intended for ensembles high school and up, although more skilled middle school players can handle most of these parts. Highest notes for trumpets is 5th-line F, for trombone is G about bass clef staff, and for horn Bb above treble clef staff. Lowest notes for horns is 1st-space A in bass clef, for tuba pedal F, and options for notes below bass clef staff for compatible trombones.
