Description
Jim Croce’s 1973 chart-topper comes to the brass band in this high-energy swing arrangement of Bad Leroy Brown by Rieks van der Velde. Telling the story of the “meanest guy in the whole damn town,” the arrangement features a driving beat, punchy brass hits, and a great deal of “swagger.” It is a fantastic showcase for the band’s rhythmic precision and style, making it a “sure-fire” crowd-pleaser for any pop or light-music program.
Difficulty 3
(Medium) Fourth year players, or junior high-level students may require these arrangements to be properly challenged. These generally have free use of syncopation as well as section and solo scoring. Cues and cross cues will also be used less.
