“Penlee” is a dramatic and emotionally charged symphonic portrait by Simon Dobson, commemorating the 1981 sinking of the Union Star and the incredible heroism of the Penlee lifeboat crew. Selected as the 2011 NABBA 2nd Section test piece, this work is a powerful display of modern brass composition.
