Description
The original melody I’ll Bid My Heart Be Still is an old love song from the Scottish Borders with lyrics added by Thomas Pringle. This version of the song was created in 1944 for viola and piano by the composer Rebecca Clarke as a wedding gift for her fiancé, James Friskin just before their marriage.
Here we have a highly imaginative and expressive interpretation, transcribed for euphonium and piano by the Scottish Border’s musician David Robb.
