Description
One of the legendary John Philip Sousa’s earliest marches, The Transit of Venus was written to commemorate the 1874 astronomical event of the same name. Craig Mason’s arrangement brings this “hidden gem” of the march repertoire to the brass band world. It is a charming and historically significant piece that features the signature Sousa rhythmic snap and melodic clarity. It is both a fun piece to learn and an educational journey into the early career of the “March King.”
Difficulty 4
