Johann Strauss II’s exotic and characterful Persian March is expertly set for brass band by John Glenesk Mortimer. The work features the distinctive melodic intervals and rhythmic pulse that suggest a grand, middle-eastern procession. Mortimer includes alternate bass clef Trombone parts to suit different players. It is a fantastic “character march” that offers a refreshing and tuneful alternative to traditional military marches, showcasing the band’s ability to play with precision and stylistic flair.
