Description
El Choclo (The Ear of Corn) is one of the pillars of early tango music. Arranged for brass band by Norman Tailor, the piece captures the distinctive “Habanera” rhythm and the sharp, rhythmic character of the “Old Guard” tangos. It features playful melodic exchanges and a strong rhythmic drive that highlights the band’s ability to play with a clear, articulate style. It is a fantastic historical and musical “color” piece that brings a touch of vintage Buenos Aires to the concert stage.
