Description
Scarborough Fair, the haunting traditional British folk song, is reimagined by Gordon Langford as a sublime Trombone Duet. The arrangement weaves the two trombone parts together in a series of lyrical, contrapuntal lines that emphasize the mellow and resonant qualities of the instrument. Supported by a tasteful and atmospheric brass band accompaniment, this work is an excellent choice for featuring two trombonists in a piece that focuses on phrasing and tonal control rather than pure technical display.
Difficulty 3
(Medium) Fourth year players, or junior high-level students may require these arrangements to be properly challenged. These generally have free use of syncopation as well as section and solo scoring. Cues and cross cues will also be used less.
